We want to share some of the things we’re doing to help our customers, wider community and colleagues during these challenging times. We’re proud to say that many of these actions come from the 80,000 colleagues who are working around the clock to keep delivering for customers.
Our food departments remain open in every store. Check your local store’s daily opening times here.
We’ve made a number of changes to our stores to help make sure our customers can stay healthy and well when they shop with us – whether in our foodhalls or clothing and home departments.
Watch our film about changes in our foodhalls or take a look at our Shop Clothing with Confidence poster.
Our partnership with community platform Neighbourly helps us reach and work with charities in as many communities as possible. Through the Neighbourly Community Trust and donations to the National Emergencies Trust, we’re helping more than 1,000 charities support the most vulnerable people in our communities across the UK, as you can see on our Supporting Communities across the UK poster or by watching our #allinthistogetherfilm.

Launched on 21 March, the Neighbourly Community Fund is supporting people most impacted by Covid-19, by funding the work of more than 1,000 local charities.
M&S kickstarted the fund with a donation of ￡100,000, which you can boost by choosing Neighbourly Community Fund as your Sparks charity, or by donating directly to the fund.
In April, we announced the donation of thousands of bespoke T-shirts for the NHS Nightingale London team to wear as part of their uniform. Following this, customers and colleagues asked for a charity tee to buy and show their support and solidarity. In response, M&S is selling a range of All In This Together T-shirts.
All of the ￡3.55 profit plus VAT from the sale of each product will be donated to NHS Charities Together (registered charity 1186569) – supporting NHS staff and volunteers caring for Covid-19 patients. Find out more about the charity here.
We are pleased to announce the launch of our specially designed?bag for life?– featuring a rainbow and heart design, showing our appreciation for NHS heroes.
An idea inspired by our very own colleagues, the limited-edition bag is available in all stores. Buy a bag for?20p and we’ll?donate?100% of the profits – that’s 10p per bag – to?NHS Charities Together.
By investing in the rainbow bag for life, you’re doing your bit for the NHS and the environment. Our carrier bags are 100% recycled; in fact, they’re made from plastic waste collected from our very own stores.
If you would like to donate to NHS Charities Together when shopping in store, simply speak to a colleague at the till point and they will process your donation. 100% of your donation will go directly to NHS Charities Together.
M&S customers can select a new Sparks charity to support: The Neighbourly Community Fund, NHS Charities Together or the National Emergencies Trust. Sparks is M&S’s loyalty programme that offers a range of benefits including a penny donation by M&S to a charity of your choice every time you shop in store or online.
We’re working hard to make that as easy as we can for them. As well as additional cleaning in our stores, we’ve added more time to shifts so colleagues can wash their hands, we’re supporting all colleagues who need to self-isolate on full pay and we’ve set up a fund for colleagues facing temporary hardship to give them extra help.
